Trinity Family,
A new year is often a time for us to reflect and make resolutions. There's something nice about a fresh start. As we begin to enter into 2025, I want to give some pastoral encouragement to be in God's word daily for the new year. And not just to be in God's Word daily, but to read through the entire Bible during 2025! While it may seem like a monumental task, it's really not all that difficult. For example, reading just four chapters each day will have you finishing the Bible well before the year's end. So with this encouragement, I've provided some resources below to help you with this task.
My prayer is that by all of us being in God's Word together, we may continue to grow stronger in faith not only as individuals, but as a congregation.
Together in God's Word,
Pastor Peter
Resources:
The Simplest Plan - A simple plan is to read 4 Chapters of the Bible Mon.-Sat. I suggest, if you go this route to start with the New Testament first, and then read the Old Testament. This helps magnify the OT connections to Jesus' ministry.
ESV.org - The official website for the English Standard Version provides daily reading plans and the opportunity to create an account to track progress and make notes. It also has an option to read the Bible to you- great if you're on the go! An app of this is available for Android and iOS.
Biblehub.com - Bible hub has great free resources and commentaries to help with getting deeper into scripture.
YouVersion Bible App - More info at
youversion.com This app has great social features and additional devotional resources.
The Bible Recap - Read through with some women from Trinity. The YouVersion app also has social features that make it easy to go through the Bible with others. Some ladies at Trinity have already done this in previous years and are happy to add additional members. Please contact Tracy Sargent, Sara Whalen, or the church office for info on this group.
1517 Bible in a Year - A Bible reading plan that has you in both Testaments daily along with a short commentary videos from the scholar in residence at 1517. More info can be found here at
1517.org/oneyear.
